Not the End of The World
Last night was a bit of a nightmare to be honest, but in a perverse way, I actually thought we played okay. Yes, we lacked a cutting edge in the final third and balls went astray more often than not.

The defence was dire with the set pieces, I know, but we are making progress. It will take time.

Not the end of the world but as the performances of Bournemouth and Leicester last night illustrated we are really nowhere near as good as we think we are and have a shit attitude totally lacking in backbone

im always optimistic but apart from Fabianski who was superb and Zabaleta who always gives 100% that was a dire perforance,to be fair though i thought Wolves were superb ,full of movement and a real box of tricks .

M8 I appreciate what your trying to say but unless I’m going senile there were absolutely no positives to take from last night they were absolutely appalling or even fucking worse

You might just be in isolation with that view of how West ham played isolated. I never feel confident even when we are playing well because we give away far too many chances and it has been like that since Allardyce, nearly every team we play will almost certainly have as many chances to score as we do if not more no matter how low in the table they are and that will always be a problem for us.

Luckily I had a touch of Man flu and couldn't at up at 2 45am watch the Wolves game

I watched the Wimbledon game that was bad enough

The sides that have beaten us recently must have been looking at the way Bournemouth always take us apart. Roughing up the forwards and creative players and pressuring the defence on the break. Like taking candy from a baby

With Adrian instead of Fabianksi, it would have been six or more.

Re: Not the End of The World
I thought we would lose 3-0 because Wolves play a brand of football we aren't equipped to deal with across the whole back four. I also assumed we couldn't possibly be as bad as against Wimbledon. Should've put money on it.

Re: Not the End of The World
Though I totally disagree with the original view on last nights abject performance on a more POSITIVE note I think most on here would agree that if everyone is fit and more importantly motivated this is the best squad that we've had for some years under our best manager for some years too. We've had some bad luck with injuries added to which the greedy Austrian bastard has upset the dressing room over the last month to turn us from one of the in form teams in December to absolutely useless in most of January. About time certain players started to earn their hugely overpaid salaries and about time that Pellegrini starts to read them the riot act I think before things get even worse. When everyone is fit and firing we are a good team as we've seen already this season many times but the inconsistency is unbelievable , we'd be looking nailed on relegation candidates if we were in the bottom 5 or 6 at the moment.

The injury list can't be overlooked, and I do give him a lot of leeway on that. However, 2 in central midfield and 2 up top, with the players we have, is fucking mental. Battered playing it against bottom of League 1, SURELY, SURELY he has watched Wolves enough to know it wasn't going to work?

It's not hindsight, this has been called out by many for a long time now. I'm not saying it guarantees anything, but we don't have nearly enough quality for 4-4-2

the frustration is that in parts we've looked excellent this season, but equally as shit as well.

It's baffling how so inconsistent we are.

This hasn't gone well for you. Whining about "this site has gone to the dogs" doesn't help.
If you're going to talk cobblers don't be surprised when posters point it out.

Isolated, I back the manager and always try to be positive as a starting point, but come on son, that was fucking dross last night.

If it ended 6-0 you'd have had to say we got away lightly.

Manager takes a huge portion of the blame, 4-4-2 Is fucking suicide with our current for squad.

Re: Not the End of The World
You are mental... think the Standard got it spot on with their ratings... oh that's a 4 for Arthur... not a -4

Lukasz Fabianski - 7

A fine save at the end of the first half kept it at 0-0. Almost had a hairy moment when he went to throw the ball to Masuaku but dropped it behind him. Two good saves in succession from Jota and Saiss early in the second half. Took a nasty whack in the second half that clearly affected him but if it wasn't for the keeper, it could have easily been six or seven.

Pablo Zabaleta - 4

Saw a lot of the ball in the opening stages as he continually tried to find Michail Antonio down the right channel. Lucky not to give away a penalty after the break and really struggled in the second half.

Issa Diop - 4

Dealt with Raul Jimenez comfortably enough in the first half as he showed glimpses of getting back to his best form. Then it went wrong. Really poor after half time as he and Ogbonna went walkabout for Jimenez's second.

Angelo Ogbonna - 4

Not much to write home about in the first half as he did what he needed too fairly competently, like Diop. Then the second half arrived and didn't command enough at set pieces as the Hammers conceded twice. Was torn apart after the break.

Arthur Masuaku - 4

Targeted a lot early on as Wolves identified him as West Ham's weak point. Clumsy challenge on Doherty in the box wasn't punished. Did his best is about all you can say really. Not good enough to play in a back four but we know that already.

Declan Rice - 5

Solid and dependable on the ball, clear to see West Ham are a better team when he is playing at least. That said, he was shrugged off the ball for Wolves' second goal by Jimenez and was pulled all over the shop after the break.

Mark Noble - 3

Sloppy in possession throughout the first half, very careless as he tried to force the issue too much. Much the same in the second half, simply couldn't get into the game and was easily overrun by Joao Moutinho. Hauled off when the Hammers went 1-0 down after struggling all game.

Robert Snodgrass - 4

Quiet in the early going, didn't really see much of the ball. Booked on 38 minutes for a stupid challenge on Neves. Overpowered by Saiss for the first goal and subbed off not long after. Poor.

Felipe Anderson - 6

Very slack with his passing in the first quarter of an hour as he gave the ball away too often but improved as it went on and became the only player in claret and blue to show any quality. Not much after the break though, couldn't get going.

Michail Antonio - 4

Seemed to be used as a target man in the first half for reasons we can't quite work out and didn't really affect the game. Poor in possession after half time.

Marko Arnautovic - 4

Very little to work with in the first half as West Ham were beyond poor in the final third but Arnautovic was guilty of playing a part in that. Carried off midway through the second half with what looked like a lower leg/foot injury. Nothing to report.

Substitutes

Andy Carroll (for Snodgrass, 68') - 4

Didn't get a sniff of goal.

Pedro Obiang (for Noble, 68') - 4

Only contribution was to give away a stupid foul near the corner flag.

Javier Hernandez (for Arnautovic, 77') - 4

Did nothing.

Each has there own opinion. This site is so gone to the dogs, every post ends in a feud. I am a West Ham fan at the end of the day have been for over 40 years. Some of the cunts on here aren't even forty. I have my opinions, might not always be right, but i fucking love my club. And I will always try to see the positives against the negatives.
